About Dolores Armada

Born in New York, it has been my joy to experience the riches of being bi-cultural and, I should add, even tri-cultural. My mother, Cristina Castillo Martin, was born in Corozal, Puerto Rico in 1906 and came to New York from Santurce in the mid 1920s. My father, Francisco Armada Santiago, was born in the seaport of Cariño, (outside of La Coruña) Spain in 1905 and also came to the U.S. via Cuba at around the same period. How fortunate that I and my four siblings, Frances, Gonzalo, Frank and Anthony were born to such exceptional people and able to be exposed to their rich language and cultures.

This blessing has enriched us and influenced every portion of our lives and that of our offspring. It is therefore not surprising that we all take an interest in our roots and what's happening near and far within these cultures. These pages have been prepared so we can share some of our interests with those who may also benefit from them.

Having created my own real estate website has allowed me the facility of adding the section, Nuestras Raíces, concerning Spanish activities and resources in the area of New York and New Jersey. The references I have made are primarily driven by my Spanish and Puerto Rican interests. It would please me to see that this information may be found useful by visitors to this website. If you´d like me to consider any suggestions or submissions that might be compatible to the theme of this website, you can send me an e-mail at darmada@aol.com or reach me by phone at (732) 397-5044.

Espero que encuentren algo de interés dentro de este esfuerzo,
Dolores
